Put-n-Bay Educational Summer Trip

Put-n-Bay, Ohio
If you are from Northwest Ohio or from nearby areas, you know that Put-n-Bay is a great place for ADULT fun! You might hear people say, "What happens at the BAY stays at the BAY!" Today was my 1st DAY trip to Put-n-Bay, Ohio! I saw a whole new side to South Bass Island to appreciate!

This year is the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 & the Battle of Lake Erie. There are tons of activities planned throughout the summer & fall to celebrate! Click HERE for more info.
Upper Sandusky Exempted Village School Teachers complete 7 contact hours at the MVHS Summer Teacher Workshop held at Gibraltor & South Bass Islands on 7/25/12 as part of
Maumee Valley Historical Society Professional Development for Educators and History Enthusiasts.

Goals and Objectives:
*Learn ways to commemorate the bicentennial of the War of 1812 in our classrooms.
*Improve our knowledge of local history as it pertains to northwest Ohio's role in the War of 1812 and the events leading up to it and of the Great Lakes including geology and environmental science content.
*Enhance personal growth and community awareness by learning about the important role Ohio and its geography played throughout the War of 1812.
*Improve knowledge of state and local resources available to assist students in meeting Academic Content Standards for K-12 Social Studies and K-12 Revised Earth and Life Science Standards.
