2011 National Blue Ribbon School -Online Resource from Principal who is a TECHIE too!

Union Elementary is a Blue Ribbon School!
I attended the National Blue Ribbon School Ceremony in Washington D.C.  with 2 principals to accept our award! What an honor!

What is a Blue Ribbon School?
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and non-public elementary, middle, and high schools where students achieve at very high levels and/or where the achievement gap in narrowing. The Program sets a standard of excellence for all schools striving for the highest level of achievement. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program is part of a larger U. S. Department of Education effort to identify and disseminate knowledge about best school leadership and teaching practices. Each year since 1982, the U.S. Department of Education has sought out schools where students attain and maintain high academic goals, including those that beat the odds.

The award we brought home!

Our students were on the "BIG screen"!

Arne Duncan, U.S. Secretary of Education spoke at the ceremony.

The principal, Laurie Vent, on the left holding the award is a "TECHIE" too. She is the one who got me started dabbing in technology!

Here is an online resource that she developed & I wanted to share it with you. Thought you might like it!
